First off, I never cheer for a player who beats my team, especially in a championship setting.
I may have to reconsider this after watching the YouTube video below last night. I am a big fan of how Larry Bird played. He was perhaps the biggest trash talker of all time. Larry Bird didn’t care who you were and he took it to everyone. He knew how good he was and he let everyone know, including the legendary greats he played against, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Isaiah Thomas, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and others.
Perhaps my favorite part in this video is his Christmas present to one particular player. You’ll just have to watch and see what I’m talking about.
So I bow before your greatness Larry Bird and salute as one of the greatest ever even though your Celtics beat my Rockets in the Finals twice (1981, 1986).
